First Egypt. Obama can’t seem to figure out a good strategy quickly enough. Because of what his policies have been, telling Mubarak to leave didn’t do a thing. Worse yet, in the recent days, the Muslim Brotherhood have been duking it out with Mubarak’s own supporters.
For the President and the White House, it must be very frustrating to see all your ambitions being ruined by a mere crowd! And worse, the Muslim Brotherhood are quite open of their hatred of the Jews and of the West, so it makes it difficult to kick Mubarak out in a manner which prevents the Brotherhood from wreaking havoc on your foreign policies.
The lesson of Iran from the Carter Administration was ignored and is poised to be repeated again. What a headache. In this, President Obama has my sympathy. But perhaps he ought to read his history.

Speaking of history, another thing occurred to embarrass the White House. A Florida judge ruled the mandate to force citizens to buy Obamacare was abolished and its bill also in its entirety. This ruling not only rightfully challenges Congress, but along with other measures to strip whole bureaucracies of their power (the EPA in one), everything Obama wishes to accomplish may be entirely ruined.
As if that weren’t enough, the CBA’s report that Obama’s current budget will increase the debt by 1.5 Trillion dollars while Medicare will be in the Red by 20 billion dollars!

Now normally a politician will reevaluate his or her position on things. Because just maybe God is sending a message to you that He doesn’t like what your doing. Will Obama stop or change? Not remotely.
All one has to do is listen to his State of the Union Address, and one will notice his desire to keep spending and create more government jobs. It’s as if a son, struggling with overspending and in debt you home’s worth, tells you he is serious about the problem and requests you let him keep his allowance of 15,000 dollars.

Say what you want of the President, he has one thing going his way: his resolute steadfastness to his core ideology. But as we see with the situation in Egypt, with the National Debt, and his political dreams including a now-dead bill “affectionately” called Obamacare, it is his ideology and practice that continues to get him in trouble and continue the same failed patterns of the Carter Administration.

Eesh. I don’t want to be him.

I’ve been thinking on this lately given how much school has sucked from my life. However, much of that was just adjusting to school life.

Having taken 14 units at my local college, I was surprised to notice how not being in school for a year and a half wrecked my studying habits. If not for my kind-hearted teacher in Sociology, who spent a whole class reminding everyone what studying really looks like, my GPA may have dropped further than it did.
Some of this is really related to the way schools in the High Desert (and yours too?) teach. It’s much more really a memorize-forget system. Because classes are so large (40+) in high school, much of the learning process is done this way out of a necessity to survive. So when this stretches to college, the results are disastrous.

Just walking around my local college, I found that many of the students with High School Diplomas were in Math 10, equivalent to 8th grade math! All of the other classes had students filled with this kind of horrendous situation.
I must admit, half of my problem last semester came mostly from being bored half to death when the teachers in classes like Biology were spending most of their time talking about like fifth grade material.

So what I concluded was that last semester was mostly getting dumbed down enough to listen to those awful-long lectures and not so much because time wasn’t mine. Perhaps you feel the same?

Either way, expect me to make an effort to write more on a regular basis in the next couple weeks…

I took earlier a practice test to see where I was and I was amazed that my score which I thought was so good was better then the average by a good 18 points, and. There’s only 99 points in the test.
As the recruiter told me, people I’m the high desert are generally dumb as rocks.

So why the low grading? There wasn’t even high school math involved and yet people didn’t know simple arithmetic.
This is an example of the kind of grades our public schools are getting. Even though we have the most money put in our system (a petition is out to get even more!), we have some of the lowest grades.

It really doesn’t take a genius to see the system is broke. Help get politicians who actually understand education and not favors.

I attend a junior college. For those not familiar with a junior college, the advantages with most of them is you have a two year program which gives you real college credit for a fraction of the cost.
For instance, at my junior college a unit (or credit) is $21. not bad, huh?

So anyways, in this college I sing in their music program. And the college has a pretty solid music program. Besides that our teacher Dr. Miller is internationally known and he knows how to make. Newbies professionals in two semesters.
Recently we sang the Hodie by Vaughn Williams. It’s a really hard song to sing but definitely worth the work. If your not familiar with it, you’ve heard pieces of it in movies like Star Wars.

On that night we sang it was pretty stuffy. We all were sweating during the concert and someone even collapsed from the heat.

All in all it was a lot of fun to sing with a young group with a lot of talent and I can’t wait for Winter Session!!!

This kind of thing makes my blood boil because would you sign a contract for a house that was a thousand pages long? Wouldn’t you be at least a little bit suspicious?

Yet people seem to be fine with a bill that is both two thousand pages and more money than most people will make in their lives combined.

Just how much is a trillion dollars? How can it be deficit neutral if you are going to funnel out 200 Billion on another “important” bill.

I think, and I know I’m young, why don’t we allow actual capitalism work? Why don’t we allow the insurance agencies to have competition with other states? Why don’t we strike down the lethal power of the unions which have been squeezing out many companies to start.

My Father works for the county. As the senior teacher at a last chance school in Fontana, he will tell you that the unions have forced jobs out because they need more money.

Or take my Sister, who is currently subbing, she talks about how teachers who have even molested kids, if they are seniors there, simply get redeployed and go right back into the system. The reason? They know people and won’t get fired.

Now to be fair, this means the younger teachers are scrutinized really strict. But the fact that the unions are causing jerks back into our own school system, is so pathetic.

That unions bringing down our car companies and are crushing the school systems and yet is fine with this is so insane!! God help us.

So that’s what I’m going to do…

Recently I’ve had the desire to join the Air Force Reserve. So I thought I’d look up on the web to find a office close by. Finding this, I attempted to contact the recruiter only to find the recruiter was off on a once-a year training session for the recruiters.

So I left a message and when she came back (she said when she’d return) I called her, each time only to get her nice voice machine. Even after the fifth message, my ticket out of here refused to answer.

Thus disillusioned with this person, I looked to see if there was a local office nearby. To my delight I found that the nearest and only place in the Victor Valley was a block away, hidden among several stores.

Seeing my chance, I seized the opportunity and planned out my victorious entrance. I was so relieved since this person could not ignore me!
My Father suggested I call first before I raided the place so I picked up the phone, my excitement at getting to see him.

I called and waited. The voice message came on and his voice came into my ear. To my severe chagrin the man informed me he had just LEFT the place a mere 20 hours ago and wouldn’t be back for a time.

Now my life has no purpose. My thoughts painfully thinking of what would never be. How could I have failed? That wonderful plan I had was useless now!

So now I know what the Riddler goes through. The pain we both feel, frustrated at the enemies brilliance and sheer luck. Knowing we will never get our questions answered and yet we can never give up.

How about you? Do you know how they did it!?!

So what now? I see several things. And some are not pretty.

For one, Zicam will certainly be crushed as a business. Perhaps they will have to change their name because the stench of this catastrophy reaches to every consumer. More also, they will have to be prepared to give up a lot of money in their deep pockets. Eesh, I don’t want to be a worker in that company…

I know a lot of people are complaining of the lack of oversight because of the “loophole”, but does anyone smell a scam?

Think of it this way: The Federal Government caused much of the present distress through the loan giants of Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae. Not to mention all the other bumber of bueacracies like the EPA which are very inneffective in both their treatment and in their broad and ‘useless’ powers. I’m not saying we should let people like Zicam get away with it. It’s just that with these crises we’ve been having, your freedom to do things, or in this case manufacture, are being threatened by well meaning jerks from Congress.

Someone please tell me how the Feds are not intruding in more than they can bite. When the Feds are able to reign in their spending and make their present programs work then they can say something.

You see, the real oversight needs to come from the consumer. Think about it. How many of you would buy a hamburger if you knew there was arson in it? Capitalism shuts down the bad practices and upholds the good. It is the only oversight you need unless your ok with your Big Brother telling you what to shop for and where to shop.

Today (April 27, 2009), 91 people got citations at the White House by the park police when they chained themselves to the fences surrounding the White House. The police were authorized to cut their chains and when they did, only gave them warnings/citations rather than putting them in jail, which they certainly had the right to do.

So who were these people? The disabled. It seems they want the president to support legislation giving people with disabilities in need of long-term care alternatives to nursing homes. But President Obama isn’t acting fast enough, they say.

I know this may sound gloomy and somewhat dark, but an optimist like myself sees the bright side. You see, in this “crisis”, they think Obama should fork over more money to help them. Can’t do that in a real depression, can you? Unless the Administration is all about social change, in which case money is irrelevant. If only that were so…

Then Robert Gibbs gives the press an ‘A’ for their coverage of the White House, even though the reporters aren’t all giving him the same. Many are complaining of the favoritism and selective press releases of the Administration, like releasing the Bush “torture” memos and not revealing who is with the President at 7 am or how they get to decisions.

This is a dangerous toy the President has. Both to avoid harming himself and to be hated for doing it. In fact, the issue with the reporters with Gibbs is yet another example of both the flaws with Obama’s promises and the different lenses we people look at things. Both bring to light the dangerous power the White House has over being transparent and the apparent lack of understanding much of his supporters have.

Why is the issue of transparency becoming an issue? Why should the average American care about the protests of the disabled? Because they reveal a deeper issues which are at stake. To the disabled, the truth in the advertising (i.e., their is NO depression, just the loan market tanked). T Gibbs and the press, the clear misunderstanding between Obama and “his” people, which grows every day.

So be aware of what the political aspects come of each report. Do your own research and keep our politicians honest as you want a lawyer to be (my apologies to lawyers out there). Be American.

It is something to behold indeed with caution when for an ideology and save face many lives are threatened. If it weren’t for America, Israel would just be another crater on the map. Who can forget the Six Day Way? Had America not been supplying her with those materials, Israel might have had another history by now.

I know, Obama is trying to do what he sees best, given his ideology. His threatening of Israel to maintain peace is understandable. Obama, like many of his constituents, wants peace. He more than the rest because he has an image to keep. But the path our President has chosen is a dangerous one, for it disregards Iran’s threats as like a child, when he is angry at his parents, that with enough soft speech, he might make both sides to be at peace, even if it is a shaky one.

However, Obama fails to regard history, or for that matter, basic detective work. It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out Iran loathes Israel. And when you mix in the pot the fact Iran has been developing the nuclear bomb in sharp arrogance towards the West, you get your ingredients for another ’81.

Certainly then it must irk Obamawhen Israel threatens to attack anyway. How can they do this to him? He is supposed to have brought a new era with him, don’t they know he can solve this problem without military force? Unfortunately for Obama, time is not on his side. Nor is the idea of self-preservation ingrained in our President’s heart. Nothing creates suspicion greater than recent aggression. And when your adversary both speaks of you as the devil and talks of your extinction, you cannot help yourself but be on your guard.

Perhaps Obama needs to think on this. In some ways, I think Obama is right if he wants to avoid war, but the alternatives to strictly war are not very many. For Obama, it is understandable, though NOT excusable, for him to become a little hostile to the people he sees as troublemakers. At least, troublemakers at this point.

So for the President and his party, it is something of a curse, this situation. It will be morbidly interesting to watch it play out.
